Weak rural development and poor investments in creating jobs are causes of the lack of opportunities for many young people in rural areas compared to urban areas. To contribute to addressing this, participants wanted their local governments to make it a priority to set up skills training centres across the country. They also noted the opportunities that could accrue to young people by strengthening the agricultural value chain. Lack of access to financial services and startup capital, thus financial literacy is also essential for youth.
