Panellists advised potential migrants to always be alert to false offers. This, the panelists explained, is to for example verify business identities by asking for the official registered company name, registration number, physical office space and address, among others. Other precautions include obtaining a written and legally enforceable contract, and making payments for offers only after official verification with the right organisation.
The panellists also stressed and advised young people to avoid unnecessary stigma and stress by patronising job opportunities offered by organisations including Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and Technical and Vocational, Education and Training, (TVET) as well as the government labour offices in the regions.
